Mikes full name is Michael Kenji Shinoda. His background is Japanese but was born in America. Mike is best know as the rapper,songwriter, keyboardist, rhythm guitarist, vocalist of Linkin Park. He was born and grew upin Los Angeles suburb of Agoura Hills.He is a mix of Japanese American and European America. His father is Japanese American and his mother is European.He is not an only child, he has a younger brother named Jason Shinoda.

At age thirteen he started playing the jazz.blues, and hip-hop. In Middle School and High School he started playing the guitar and began moving towards becoming a rapper.
